Our Pasifika Mamas group recently celebrated its one-year anniversary. The foundation of this group comprised of five mothers with the primary goal to create a space for Pasifika mothers to connect, seek support, and exchange experiences. Over the past year the community has expanded, now comprising of nearly 50 mothers and one father actively engaging in group sessions. These sessions encompass a range of topics, including practical family education, child brain development, physical activities, and the CCC mobile library, among others. Notably, the St Johns Hato Hone CPR session, as well as LOOPY TUNES Preschool Music - an exceptional Pasifika singing duo - have emerged as favourites among the mothers.
We are grateful for the financial support extended by Pasifika organizations, including Tangata Atumotu, Christchurch and My Baby’s Village from Auckland. Their contributions have been instrumental in nurturing and sustaining this valuable community initiative.
